Kumbabishekam

This Post is about Karungulam, a Vishnu Skethra in Southern part of Tamilnadu.   Situated in Tirunelveli Tiruchendur Main road in Tuticorin District , The Vishnu Temple is very famous.  
The Venkatachalapathi Temple is on the hill called Vagulagiri. 

The enshrined god in this temple is in the form of two sticks(Tharkals) which are used to drive the car in the temple car festival. These sticks are made up of Sandal Wood and placed close to each other and consecrated in the Sanctum Sanctorium

Chithra Pournami is very famous in this temple.  Apart from the chithirai festival, Puratasi Sani GARUDA SEVAI is celebrated in all the Saturdays of PURATASI Month. P A V I T H R O T H S A V A M Festival is Celebrated for three days in the month of JULY.

The Kumbaabishekam is on 6th Febraury 2012 .  That is coming Monday.
