Dear Friends, Today is Thai Poosam, a festival  of Tamilnadu.   Lord Muruga , got the Vel (Spear) from His mother Goddess Parvathi on this day.   The word Thai means tamil month "Thai" and Poosam means one of the 27 stars.  On this day, the star has highest Power. Let us all pray God Muruga and Get good  health and happiness.

This Post is about Karungulam, a Vishnu Skethra in Southern part of Tamilnadu.   Situated in Tirunelveli Tiruchendur Main road in Tuticorin District , The Vishnu Temple is very famous.   The Venkatachalapathi Temple is on the hill called Vagulagiri.  The enshrined god in this temple is in the form of two sticks(Tharkals) which are used to drive the car in the temple car festival.
